ballymoney u3a history
In the Summer of 2015, a meeting was held in the local Town Hall, with some 70 people in attendance. This was as a result of a local lady querying why Ballymoney had not got a U3A group of their own. From those in attendance, guided by volunteers of NI Region of U3A’s, a Steering Committee was formed. Some 40+ people took up membership, accommodation was secured at The Old Court House, Monthly Meetings were set up, and a few activities started to take shape. As they say “the rest is history”.
In 2020 and in its sixth year BU3A comprises 140 members and offers a range of 20 some activities.
